About Tautanz:

Amsterdam-based tautanz make beautiful natural soap and shampoo bars and certified organic, untreated linen bath accessories.  tautanz value conscious luxury and choosing quality over quantity, reconnecting with nature and enjoying little rituals in life. We’re fans on their soap collection, specifically the wineleaf shampoo bar.

Fair Pay and Good Working Conditions:

All of tautanz products are produced in Portugal.  They know their producers and personally and visit them regularly.

Sustainable / Organic Materials:

All the ingredients for tautanz soap bars come from local suppliers in the heart of Portugal, nearby where their soaps are made.

tautanz linen is organic and certified by MASTERS OF LINEN®, EUROPEAN FLAX® & OEKO-TEX®.

Sustainable Practices:

tautanz works with experienced craftsmen in Portugal and France.
Their soaps are handmade using the traditional cold-press method.  Their linen products are handmade of untreated linen (neither stonewashed nor dyed), eliminating chemicals and reducing water waste during production. The linen yarn is produced in France by a family-owned company that values preserving traditions whilst using innovation to make the process more sustainable.

Animal Welfare:

With the exception of their Olive Oil soap which contains a small % of bees wax, their products are vegan.

Packaging:

tautanz soap packaging is made of recycled paper and their linen products are packaged in natural linen bags. They ship their products in biodegradable poly-mailers and recycled cardboard boxes.

Social Responsibility:

For their imagery, tautanz work with Suvelle Studio, a blogger from Portugal who shares relatable imagery and supports the tautanz ethos.

Since their collection is timeless and doesn’t follow seasons, tautanz do not run any sales.

Charity / Community Contributions:

tautanz believe in giving back. Whilst living in Portugal, founder Isabel personally helped to clean the local beaches. Through tautanz they can now make a bigger impact by donating a minimum of 1% of tautanz’ monthly profits to The Ocean Cleanup.
