About RAKHA:
With a closed-loop design system at the core of their design inspiration, Rakha creates beautiful, understated and contemporary garments made to last from raw biological or recycled biological materials. Their collections contain a range of well-made items of wearable design with a playful edge.
Fair Pay and Good Working Conditions:
All suppliers and manufacturers have a mix of Fair Wear or GOTS certifications ensuring good labour standards. Garments are made in Turkey, specifically Izmir and Istanbul.
Sustainable / Organic Materials:
Rakha are meticulous about the origins of their materials, all materials used are either Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Fair Wear, Vegan, Global Recycling Standard (GRS) or Cradle to Cradle (C2C) certified.
Animal Welfare:
Rakha use some silk in their garments which is GOTS certified and of Peace Silk (cruelty free silk) classification.
Rakha will soon introduce wool into their collections which will be GOTS certified, ensuring the wool is museling-free.
Packaging:
Packing is made from compostable or biodegradable materials such as sugar cane or FSC certified materials.
Social Responsibility:
Rakha is in the process of registering to the 1% for the Planet scheme and previously initiated an award-winning social program for training refugee women in London for garment making in 2016. This was awarded by the Unltd. an organisation supporting social businesses in the U.K
