About Nadinoo:
Nadinoo is a slow fashion womenswear brand. Inspired by the Japanese principle of Shibui, garments have been designed to be simple, comfortable, functional and versatile and last throughout all chapters of a woman's life. These beautiful and contemporary garments are handmade in the Nadinoo studio in Rutland, England using a range of natural materials such as organic cotton and OEKO TEX certified linen.
Fair Pay and Good Working Conditions:
Nadinoo garments are cut and sewn inhouse in their bright Rutland studio. As a one woman team, Nadia ensures everything is made in the best conditions with a retail price fairly reflecting the hours put in. Nadinoo only work with trusted UK and fair trade suppliers to source their natural fabrics and materials, with a huge selection from Merchant and Mills who offer full transparency on each fabric.
Sustainable / Organic Materials:
Nadinoo only use natural fibers with the majority of their clothing made from linen cloth which is proven to be one of the most sustainable fabrics. They offer an organic cotton range and are currently phasing out any non organic cottons from their future collections. They have introduced Corozo buttons, made from a South American nut, to phase out acrylic buttons previously used and are working to replace all their elastics with Organic cotton/natural rubber elastic making them biodegradable and recyclable elastic.
Sustainable Practices:
Through their choice of materials like Linen (Oeko Tex certified) and organic cotton there is less water consumption in the manufacturing process of these fabrics. The main factory they source their linens from in Lithuania is powered by a wind farm using clean electricity.
They also only use clean energy from renewable sources to power their studio and shop. They are also aiming to increase their sourcing from UK factories to reduce CO2 in transporting their fabrics.
All their garments are cut individually by hand which allows them to reduce fabric waste in the lay plan. Any left over scraps are saved and donated to UK artists and designers to incorporate into their work.
Their garments are produced using small batch production, reproducing only when demand is there to avoid waste. They also offer a custom order service where they make a garment to order with sizing alterations to suit their needs and free repairs to their UK customers so they can improve the longevity of their Nadinoo garments.
Animal Welfare:
They use a small amount of Raw Silk in their collections which is purchased from UK dead stock suppliers.
Sustainable Packaging:
All Nadinoo packaging is plastic free, using recycled tissue paper and paper tape sent in unbleached manila mailing bags. All recyclable or bio degradable. They also keep all reusable packaging sent to us to reuse for posting wholesale or larger items.
Social Responsibility:
Nadinoo is a slow clothing label in every sense of the word, with new collections photographed and released once a year. They push the message for their customers to make considered purchases that will be worn more frequently and last for years. They take honest photos of the garments with no retouching on the models, they hope to expand the range of models to include a variety of ethnicities and sizes.
Charity / Community Contributions:
Their Oakham shop now supports other small sustainable brands, offering beautiful products that are ethically made and benefit our planet, some with community run projects and initiatives. Nadinoo is a very small company but they are always looking for ways to get involved with social and environmental causes; recently donating products to the Australian Wild fires charity fund raisers, making reusable masks to donate to local key workers during the Covid- 19 pandemic and contributing to the Black Lives Matter charities where possible.
