Edinburgh-based artisanal brand – dook, makes beautiful soap and solid shampoo bars. dook (meaning ‘to dip, plunge or bathe’ in Scottish) make their products in small batches using organic, natural and skin safe ingredients. Their bars are fragranced with essential oils such as Rosemary, Frankincense, Bergamot, Patchouli and Mandarin. All of their ingredients are from sustainable sources and their products are housed in exclusively recycled and recyclable materials
Fair Pay and Good Working Conditions:
dook pay well above ‘real living wage’ and work exclusively with suppliers who support Fair Trade and organically produced ingredients.
Sustainable / Organic Materials:
The ingredients in dook soaps are all naturally derived; all fragrances and colours are natural as opposed to synthetically produced. Their packaging is made with recycled paper from post UK consumer waste and can be recycled or will biodegrade. All dook products are palm oil free.
Sustainable Practices:
dook manufacture in small batches, by hand. They keep energy consumption to a minimum by using energy efficient bulbs and eco settings on their equipment. The energy supplier they use provides electricity from 100% renewable sources.
Animal Welfare:
None of dook's products have been tested on animals. All the ingredients in the soaps are plant or earth based. In their solid shampoos, they use raw honey from a local beekeeper who places the welfare of his bees central to the small-scale production he runs. His honeybees make a positive contribution to the ecosystem of the Scottish Borders by pollinating local crops and orchards.

Social Responsibility:
dook is keen to enable people access to high-quality products that can replace the plastic hand or body wash or shampoo in their shower. To this end, their advertising is done in house, with no retouching or filters and is as authentic and ‘real’ as possible.
Charity / Community Contributions:
dook is based by Portobello beach in Edinburgh, Scotland. ‘dook Beach Clean’ is an ongoing scheme which rewards anyone who conducts a clean of their local beach or wild space with a 30% discount.
